Squishy.

Lots of Newbies lately! It is such a cool thing, to see new parents at home with their babies. I forget what it was like, those first few days after bringing home our daughter - it was all such a blur. And new moms are so sweet, always apologizing for the condition of their home, which is usually cleaner and more organized than they give themselves credit for. I consider myself so blessed to be a part of this magical time in these families' stories, and it makes my heart so happy to know the images I create in their dining room will be a reminder of these first days for the rest of their lives.

Some of my favorite newborn photos can be found on my "Newborn Photo Portfolio" page, click HERE to schedule your newborn session.

Freedom.

I love America. I'm weirdly patriotic. I consider the month or so leading up to Independence Day to be "America Season". Think that's weird, you should see the way my home is decorated.

Anyway, this "season" I had the pleasure of doing some sessions for some loyal clients. The first being a family session with four cousins who were all ready to celebrate our great country. A week or so later I worked with the little girl whose daddy was in Afghanistan when she was born (remember her?) and I'd done her newborn photos. Can you believe she's ONE?! It was such a treat to see her again. I also had a chance to work with a good friend's little boy up in Vegas. He is getting ready to celebrate his first birthday, too, and I was honored to do his photos in his home!

This is shaping up to be a great summer so far. I am so very thankful for the freedom to do what I love as a "job" and to have made so many wonderful friends along the way.

I'll leave you with a verse that's been in my head all "season":

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD" - Psalm 33:12

Happy Independence Day - God Bless, and God Bless America!

Cheers.

Long engagements are really starting to make a comeback. There are plenty of theories as to why, but honestly, I think people are putting so much more thought and time into the personal details of their big day, and really slowing down to make their wedding THEIRS. Cookie cutter weddings are OUT -  trust me, I see at least one every weekend - and this wedding was ANYTHING but cookie cutter.

This bride and groom mulled over and perfected EVERY detail of their big day together. This groom was so involved in the planning process I communicated with him about details almost as much as I did with his lovely bride! With a big wedding party, a big family on both sides, and a beautiful hilltop venue, it was an awesome night, and the little details that they worked so hard - and so long - on made it truly unique to them. It really was their BIG day, and I am so pleased with their photos.
